Experience

Engineering Lead

Bally's Corporation

I work for Bally's as an Engineering Lead, focusing with my team on services responsible for anything Player Account and Wallet related. One of the projects for 2024 is the deprecation of an old legacy front-end service, and replacing that with more modern scalable solutions.

January 2024 - Present

Team Lead

Bally's Corporation

Gamesys got acquired by Bally's, and I was asked to form a new team responsible for migrating all services using Apigee (API management) off to secure alternatives. This involves working together with other teams and architects to come to solutions each and everyone is happy with. It also means that for this project work is being done across the whole business, which involves challenges due to having different release processes, availability, scalability and performance issues for the APIs and services using them. This project was finished at December 2023.

October 2021 - December 2023

Team Lead

Gamesys

After working about a year and half as Software Engineer I was given the opportunity to grow my career and become a Team Lead at Gamesys. My team was responsible for AAA (Authorization, Authentication and Access-Control), the login journey and password reset journey. Completed during this time the rollout of the new password reset microservice over multiple jurisdictions in the world. The team also migrated many legacy services over to scalable, fast-performing new microservices while adding new features requested by the business.

January 2020 - October 2021

Software Engineer

Gamesys

I started at Gamesys as a Software Engineer before my promotion to Team Lead. My daily activities included working in an Agile team on different (micro) services, from development till release. Many services which could only be released manually were upgraded to be able to release automatically to live. Worked on services related to KYC and also started to create a new password reset microservice.

At Topicus I was responsible as a Scrummaster and developer to develop software for healthcare companies and the public sector. Part of my job also consists of doing dev-ops to keep applications running. Mostly I was programming in JVM languages, but also part of my job was to try out and work with the latest techniques and languages.
